By: Joshua DeGuzman I have chosen my fiction story. To create a fiction story you should ask yourself “What books do I wish existed in the world?” This question leads you to inventing a character with traits, struggles, and actions. After that, I had to write about an issue that is important to me and then create a character who struggles with that issue. You should know the characters motivations and struggles. I had to create the characters internal and external traits. I used a story map to outline. I started with the character and setting, (when creating the setting I made sure the readers can picture the setting). After that I clearly let the reader know what the character wants, and what obstacles stand in the way. I remembered to include dialog that allows the reader to see what the characters are doing. I wrote events with small moment after small moment so it leads to the climax. Then I resolved the story so there are no loose ends. There are good parts in my piece. The good part is that I made a lot o conversation, and I believe using conversation shows the reader what is going on in the scene. I also put a lot of detail in my piece which gives the reader a clear picture in their head. I found away to resolve the conflict. There are some parts that I would like to improve throughout my piece also. Some bad parts is that I didn’t put much detail on the characters themselves which I believe that the reader might not have the clearest picture in their mind but I think they have a general idea.
